On Thursday, October 17, 2019, crews will begin reconstructing the intersection of Runway Drive and Gardner Lane. This work is associated with the current voter-approved Proposition 101 Tucson Delivers Better Streets project taking place on Runway Drive between Prince Road and Gardner Lane.
During the reconstruction and repaving of the intersection, flagging operations will be in place to assist motorists through the intersection safely.
Crews will mill (remove) the old asphalt in the intersection on Thursday, October 17 and lime treat the soil on Friday, October 18. After the lime treated soil sets, new subgrade will be placed and compacted. Crews will return on Monday, October 28 and Tuesday, October 29 to pave the intersection. The intersection will be ramped and open when work is not taking place to accommodate vehicle traffic.
Crews will work Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Electronic message boards are in place to alert motorists of this upcoming work. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
The traveling public can expect delays when driving in this work area. Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work area.
