On Monday, August 24, 2015, crews from Sunland Asphalt, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will mill (remove asphalt) and repave a small section of Sixth Street on the west side of Country Club Road.
To lessen the impact on the traveling public, the milling work will begin at approximately 7 p.m. and is scheduled to be complete by 9 p.m. Paving work is scheduled to begin at 3:30 a.m., and is scheduled to be complete by 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2015.
During the work, at least one lane of travel in each direction on Sixth Street will be maintained. This work is part of the Country Club Road – Speedway Boulevard to Aviation Parkway resurfacing project. This pavement improvement project is part of the $100 million, five-year street bond program – Road Recovery. The Road Recovery program is funded by voter-approved bonds.
The traveling public can expect delays when driving or bicycling in the work area. Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in these work areas. The schedule is subject to change due to equipment malfunction or inclement weather.
