Stone Avenue and Kelso Street Underground Utility Work

On Saturday, February 21, 2015, crews from Sunland Asphalt, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will be installing underground conduit across Stone Avenue at Kelso Street. The work will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for one day only. This work is in preparation of a future HAWK crossing project at this location and the future repaving project of Stone Avenue from Grant Road to Fort Lowell Road, as part of the Road Recovery Program.

During this work traffic will be shifted and at least one lane of travel will be maintained in both directions on Stone Avenue.  Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work area. The schedule is subject to change due to equipment malfunction or inclement weather.

This work is associated with the $100 million, five-year street bond program – Road Recovery. The Road Recovery program is funded by voter-approved bonds.
