Street Bonds Road Recovery - Fog Seal Program

On Monday, June 15, 2015, crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin a fog seal program associated with the voter-approved $100 million, five-year street bond program – Road Recovery.

To minimize the impact on the traveling public, crews will work from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. The dates and locations where the first six roadway improvements will take place are:

Monday, June 15 through Thursday, June 25
Fort Lowell Road from Oracle Road to Country Club Road
Campbell Avenue from Prince Road to Fort Lowell Road
Country Club Road and Fort Lowell Road intersection
Stone Avenue and Fort Lowell Road intersection
Campbell Avenue from Benson Highway to Valencia Road
Tanque Verde Road and Catalina Highway intersection

Fog Sealing is the application of a thin layer of asphalt emulsion that helps cover small roadway imperfections, cracks or other small voids and seals the existing asphalt to preserve and protect the roadway. The above schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather. During this work, travel lane restrictions will be in place, however at least one lane of travel will be maintained in both directions.

Business access will be maintained at all times during the project.  The traveling public can expect delays when driving in the work areas.  Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work areas.

The Road Recovery Program is funded by voter-approved bonds. All proceeds from the bonds will be used to restore and resurface City streets through Fiscal Year 2018. More information on the Road Recovery Program can be found at or by calling (520) 837-6686.
