On Monday, April 15, 2019, at about 5 a.m. westbound traffic on Congress Street, between Silverbell Road and Grande Avenue, will be shifted to the north side of the roadway so crews can begin milling the asphalt and subgrade on the south side of the roadway. Following the traffic shift, Silverbell Road at Congress Street will be closed to all eastbound travel. Eastbound Congress Street travel must detour at St. Mary’s Road. Westbound travel will maintain through access from Congress Street to Silverbell Road. The detour will be in effect for about two weeks while crews complete the roadway improvements on the south side of Congress Street.
The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Crews will work Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day, with occasional night work. Electronic message boards will be in place to alert motorists of the St. Mary’s Road detour.
The traveling public can expect delays when driving in these work areas. Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work area.
