On Sunday, January 20, 2019, The Women’s March will happen downtown. Road closures will be in place for this event, listed below. Please note that pedestrian and bicycle access is being maintained in and around road closures. Businesses, parking garages and parking lots are open and accessible.
Beginning at 10 a.m. until approximately 4 p.m., the following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic:
Between 10 am and 4 pm, closures will be as follows –
Ninth Street at Sixth Street
Church Street at Sixth Street
Granada Street from Franklin Street to Sixth Street
Granada Street between Congress Street and Alameda Street
Church Street at Congress Street
Pennington at Congress Street
Granada Road at Congress Street
Stone Avenue from Congress Street to Council Street
Alameda Street from Granada Street to Church Street
Main Street at Alameda Street
Court Street at Alameda Street
Motorists driving in the downtown area may experience traffic delays associated with this event so please plan accordingly. Attendees of the march are encouraged to arrive early in order to avoid traffic detours necessary for the event. The traveling public should use caution when driving, bicycling or walking in these areas. Please watch for event participants, obey all traffic control, and watch for detour signs and personnel providing traffic control.
