The City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) invites the public to an open house to kick off Tucson Delivers – Better Streets (Proposition 101).
Thursday, August 24, 2017 – 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Brief Presentation at 6:15 p.m.
Sabbar Shrine Center, 450 S. Tucson Blvd.
In May, Tucson voters approved a five-year, half-cent sales tax increase (Proposition 101) to fund public safety equipment and capital needs and road repairs. Approximately $100 million of the new revenue generated over the next 5 years will be used for road repairs, with about $60 million for major roads and the remainder to repair local streets.
At the open house, the public can meet the project team, ask questions, and provide written comments on local streets they would like improved. The City’s Bond Oversight Commission (BOC) will oversee the road repair plan and designate local streets for repair, using a comprehensive engineering analysis to evaluate street conditions, along with public input.
