TDOT Initiates Operation Freeze

Beginning at approximately 2:30 p.m. today, crews from the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) Streets and Traffic Maintenance Division will initiate Operation Freeze in preparation of freezing temperatures tonight. Operation Freeze is put into place to make sure City bridge decks are free of ice and safe for motorists to drive over.
Grant Road - Stone Avenue to Fontana Avenue

Underground utility work being conducted by Century Link associated with the Grant Road Widening Project will require eastbound travel lane closures on Grant Road from Stone Avenue to Fontana Avenue.
The single, eastbound travel lane closure will take place nightly from 8 p.m. to noon the following day. The travel lane restrictions will be in place from Thursday, November 12, 2015 through Friday, November 13, 2015.
Kolb Road: Connection to Sabino Canyon Road

PRE-CONSTRUCTION PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE
The public is invited to attend a public open house for Kolb Road: Connection to Sabino Canyon Road. This project is part of the $2.1 billion, 20-year Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) plan that was approved by voters in May 2006.

Campbell Avenue and Glenn Street Intersection Traffic Signal Replacement

On Thursday, November 12, 2015, as part of the Campbell Avenue Streetscape Enhancement Project, crews from Mountain Power will replace the traffic signals and traffic signal poles at the Campbell Avenue and Glenn Street intersection.
Tucson Police Department officers will direct traffic through the intersection from 10:30 a.m. to noon. One southbound travel lane on Campbell Avenue and one eastbound lane on Glenn Street at the intersection will be closed during the work.
Veterans Day Parade

Downtown Tucson will be the host of the annual Veterans Day Parade on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. The parade will stage on West Alameda Street between Granada Avenue and Manning House Way beginning at 9 a.m. The parade begins at 11 a.m., and proceeds east on West Alameda Street and turns north on Stone Avenue to Franklin Street, then turns west on Franklin Street to Church Avenue. At Church Avenue, the parade turns north to Sixth Street/ St. Mary’s Road, proceeds west on Sixth Street/ St. Mary’s Road, then turns south on Granada Avenue and ends at Franklin Street.
Old Spanish Trail Repaving Project

OLD SPANISH TRAIL – MELPOMENE WAY TO HOUGHTON ROAD
RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
On Wednesday, November 11, 2015, crews from Southern Arizona Paving, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin work to reconstruct Old Spanish Trail from Melpomene Way to Houghton Road.
Campbell Avenue – Fort Lowell Road to Glenn Street: Repaving Project Postponed

Work to mill, crack seal and repave Campbell Avenue from Fort Lowell Road to Glenn Street that was scheduled to begin on Monday, November 9, 2015, has been postponed until later this year.
Crews from Sunland Asphalt, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), have completed lowering manhole covers and water valve covers on Campbell Avenue.
All Souls Procession - Travel Information

Downtown will be the host of the annual All Souls Procession on Sunday, November 8, 2015. The Procession will stage in the historic Warehouse District at Sixth Avenue and Seventh Street beginning Sunday at 4 p.m. The procession will begin moving through downtown at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Procession begins at Sixth Avenue and Alameda Street, proceeds west on Alameda Street to Granada Avenue and turns south to Congress Street.
22nd Street Closed at Union Pacific Railroad Tracks

22ND STREET CLOSED AT UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD TRACKS
On Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 7 a.m., crews from Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) will close 22nd Street at the at-grade railroad crossing, located just west of Euclid Avenue at Santa Rita Park. The complete closure is scheduled to be in place until 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2015. The road closure will be in place to allow crews to replace the track and install new concrete panels. Message boards are in place to advise motorists of the closure.

As part of the City of Tucson Department of Transportation's Downtown Links Phase III project, Century Link is continuing work to relocate their existing facilities located within the project limits.
On Friday, November 6, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., crews will repave sections of Sixth Street and Sixth Avenue. During the repaving work, the curb lane of northbound Sixth Avenue will be closed to traffic and the curb lane of eastbound Sixth Street will be closed to traffic.

The Metropolitan Pima Alliance (MPA) has designated two City transportation projects as being in the top 20 projects to be recognized at the Common Ground Awards ceremony in October 2015: Houghton Road Corridor: Tanque Verde Road to Interstate 10 and Kino Parkway/22nd Street Intersection Improvement Project.
