Grant Road Utility Adjustments and Repaving UPDATE

On Tuesday, April 28, 2015 through Thursday, April 30, 2015, crews from Granite Construction Co., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation, will adjust manhole covers and water valve covers flush with the new asphalt along Grant Road from Santa Rita Avenue to Campbell Avenue. This work will take place from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. all three days. Travel lane closures will last approximately 24 hours to allow the concrete ring around the covers to dry.
Stone Avenue: Roger Road to Prince Road Microsurface

On Monday, April 27, 2015, crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin work to improve the pavement conditions on Stone Avenue from Prince Road to Roger Road.
Tucson Celebrates New Separated Bicycle Lane with Ribbon Cutting

The City of Tucson will host a ribbon-cutting on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at 8:30 a.m. on Stone Avenue near Toole Avenue to celebrate Tucson's first two-way, curb-protected bicycle lane. The new bike lane is on the east side of Stone Avenue from Toole Avenue to Alameda Street. While Stone Avenue is a one-way street for vehicular traffic between Toole Avenue and Alameda Street, cyclists will be able to travel in both directions in this new bike lane.

On Saturday, April 25, 2015 and Sunday, April 26, 2015, crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) will mill (remove asphalt) and repave Stone Avenue between Toole Avenue/Franklin Street and Alameda Street. Stone Avenue will be closed to all through traffic during the active construction hours for this project.
22nd Street - Wilmot Road to Swan Road Resurfacing Project: UPDATE

On Saturday, April 25, 2015 and Sunday, April 26, 2015, crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will mill (remove asphalt) and repave 22nd Street from Craycroft Road to Wilmot Road. This weekend work will complete the first layer of paving on 22nd Street from Swan Road to Wilmot Road. The final layer of asphalt paving is scheduled to take place during the week of May 3, 2015.
Tucson Mayor and Council Approve Resurfacing Additional Roadways and Neighborhoods in Bond Program

Following a public hearing Tuesday night, the Tucson Mayor and Council unanimously approved adding 45 major roadways to the voter-approved Bond Program – Road Recovery. The vote will also add about four different neighborhood areas to the resurfacing program and also includes pavement preservation work on roadways that have been recently repaved.

Grand Road Repaving Update

On Thursday, April 23, 2015 and Friday, April 24, 2015, crews from Granite Construction Co., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation, will mill (remove asphalt) and repave Grant Road from Santa Rita Avenue to Campbell Avenue. The American Public Works Association (APWA) announced the Houghton Road, Irvington Road to Valencia Road Project has been selected as one of the nation's Public Works Projects of the Year for 2015. This prestigious award will be presented Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Phoenix Convention Centre.
Grant Road Repaving - Santa Rita Avenue to Columbus Boulevard: UPDATE

After evaluating the milled asphalt conditions on Grant Road between Santa Rita Avenue and Columbus Boulevard, the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) is modifying the limits of the Hot-In-Place paving application.
Hot-In-Place paving is currently taking place on Grant Road from Country Club Road to Columbus Boulevard. Work will take place Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, with one lane of travel in each direction being maintained. The Hot-In-Place paving work is scheduled to be complete by Wednesday, April 15, 2015.

The Ashton Company, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), has started the application of the final two layers of new asphalt at the Kino Parkway and 22nd Street intersection.
Crews are working Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The final paving on 22nd Street is scheduled to be complete by Friday, April 24, 2015. The final two layers of asphalt paving on Kino Parkway is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 13, 2015 and is scheduled to be complete by Friday, May 8, 2015.

On Thursday, April 2, 2015, Granite Construction, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin repaving Grant Road from Santa Rita Avenue to Columbus Boulevard. Crews will begin the project by milling (removing asphalt) eastbound Grant Road working from Santa Rita Avenue to Columbus Boulevard. Once work crews reach Columbus Boulevard, they will begin milling westbound Grant Road from Columbus Boulevard to Santa Rita Avenue.
