Main Ave/Granada Ave Closure

 

On Monday, January 3, 2022, Borderland Construction, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), is scheduled to close Main Avenue/Granada Avenue from St. Mary's Road to Speedway Boulevard. Residential and business access will be maintained between Speedway Boulevard and Fourth Street and a full closure will be in place from the Union Pacific Railroad Tracks (UPRR) south to St. Mary’s Road. This work is part of the Prop 101 Tucson Delivers Better Streets Project currently taking place.

Traffic Alert Downtown Bowl Bash

 

On Thursday, December 30, 2021, beginning at 7 a.m., the following streets will be closed for the New Year’s Eve Downtown Bowl Bash:

  • Toole Avenue from Congress Street/Fourth Avenue to Pennington Street
  • Fifth Avenue from Congress Street to Toole Avenue

The road closures are scheduled to reopen for travel by 7 a.m. on Saturday, January 1, 2022.

Traffic Alert Grant Road and Orchard Avenue

On Saturday, December 18, 2021, Tucson Electrical Power Co. is scheduled to install new power lines at the Grant Road and Orchard Avenue intersection, just east of Columbus Boulevard. This utility work is part of the Grant Road Improvement Project Phase 3 & 4.

Work is scheduled to take place between 4 a.m. and 11 a.m., the same day. During this work, one travel lane will remain open in each direction for eastbound and westbound traffic on Grant Road. Officers will be on-site to direct travel through the intersection until the work is complete.

Cool Pavement Country Club Road

On Wednesday, December 15, 2021, Pavement Restoration Inc., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), is scheduled to apply the PlusTi™ asphalt rejuvenator treatment on Country Club Road from Broadway to Aviation Parkway as part of a cool pavement pilot program.

Traffic Alert - Fourth Avenue Winter Street Fair

Beginning Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 1 p.m., Fourth Avenue will close south of University Boulevard to Eighth Street, with the exception of Sixth Street, for the annual Fourth Avenue Winter Street Fair. Additionally, the following side street closures will be in place:

Sixth Ave Protected Bike Lane Project Events

 

The Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM) is planning a protected bike lane on Sixth Avenue from Speedway Boulevard to Seventh Street. This project is part of the voter-approved Proposition 407 Tucson Delivers Strong Connections Program to expand the citywide low-stress biking and walking network. This project will feature protected bike lanes on both sides of the street.

DOWNTOWN ROAD CLOSURES
DUSK MUSIC FESTIVAL

Beginning Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 5 a.m., the following travel restrictions and road closures will be in place for the DUSK Music Festival in Downtown Tucson.

Thursday, November 11, 2021, 5 a.m., through Friday, November 12, 2021, 9 p.m., and Monday, November 15, 2021, 5:30 a.m., until cleanup is complete.

Ice Rink Travel Restrictions

 

The Tucson Holiday Ice Rink, hosted by the City of Tucson, will be located on Church Avenue, south of Broadway, in front of the Tucson Convention Center.

To accommodate the outdoor ice rink, Church Avenue between Broadway and Cushing Street will be restricted to one lane of travel in each direction beginning Tuesday, November 9, 2021, until Sunday, January 16, 2022. This travel restriction will be in place 24-hours a day, seven days a week for the duration of the event.

Downtown Links Traffic Alert 11 8 2021

Downtown Links Constructors (DLC), under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility are working on the Downtown Links project, which began in August 2020.

Motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians should anticipate intermittent lane restrictions throughout the limits of the project in addition to the following upcoming work:
