TRAFFIC ALERT

TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
FORT LOWELL ROAD AND ALVERNON WAY INTERSECTION

On Thursday, November 4, 2021, crews from Next Generation Electrical, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), are scheduled to convert the traffic signal heads to include flashing yellow arrows at the Fort Lowell Road and Alvernon Way intersection.

Main Ave/Granada Ave Prop 101 Tucson Delivers Project

 

On Monday, November 1, 2021, Borderland Construction, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), is scheduled to begin roadway improvements on Main Avenue/Granada Avenue from Speedway Boulevard to Congress Street, including the intersection of Granada Avenue and St. Mary’s Road/Sixth Street, as part of the Proposition 101 - Tucson Delivers Better Streets Program.

Palm Tree Trimming

 

BrightView Landscaping, under contract with the Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM) Streets Maintenance Division, will be trimming palm trees for the next few weeks in City median islands. There will be intermittent, median island travel lane closures as the contractor moves through the project areas. Crews will work from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Work dates and trimming locations for this week are:

Monday, September 13, 2021, to Tuesday, September 14, 2021 –

Stone Ave and Broadway Traffic Signal Work

 

On Wednesday, September 8, 2021, and Thursday, September 9, 2021, crews from Next Generation Electrical, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), are scheduled to conduct work on the traffic signal pole at the Stone Avenue and Broadway intersection. Crews will adjust the pedestrian push button on the northeast corner of the intersection.

Scott Avenue Closure

 

On Saturday, September 4, 2021, Scott Avenue will be closed just north of Congress Street for the Cobra Arcade Bar Block Party. The closure is scheduled to begin at approximately 9 a.m. until about 3 a.m. on Sunday, September 5.

The traveling public is asked to detour west on Congress Street and north on Church Avenue to access Pennington Street. Southbound travel on Scott Avenue approaching Congress will not be allowed through the intersection but vehicles will be able to access the Pennington Street Garage.

Stone Ave/Toole Ave/Franklin St Intersection Reopens

On Friday, August 27, 2021, at approximately 1 p.m. the Stone Avenue and Franklin Street/Toole Avenue intersection will partially reopen to travel.

Southbound Stone Avenue at Sixth Street will reopen to one southbound travel lane through the Stone Avenue Underpass. Westbound and eastbound turn movements to Franklin Street and Toole Avenue will not be permitted.

Westbound travel on Toole Avenue to northbound Stone Avenue will also reopen. Through travel and left turns at Stone Avenue will not be permitted. (See map)

Campbell Avenue Closure - South of Broadway

The removal of existing asphalt, subgrade preparation and base paving work will take place at the Broadway and Campbell Avenue intersection from 6 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021, until about 5 a.m. on Monday, August 30, 2021. During this work, the south side of the Broadway and Campbell Avenue intersection will be closed to travel. This work was scheduled to take place Friday, August 13, through Monday August 16, but was postponed due to weather.
