All in a Day's Work

Wednesday, November 9, 2011

This time on Zoo News you'll meet Alisha Brewer. Like most parents she is responsible for making wake up calls, serving breakfast, giving medicine and putting toys away. The difference is Alisha does it as part of her job. She's a zookeeper and her kids aren't the two-legged kind, they're animals. Go behind-the-scenes and see what it's really like to work at Reid Park Zoo. You might be surprised at what the job entails. Ever wonder which animal has the smelliest poop? Luckily you won't have to get a whiff or step in it to get the answer. You can't bear to miss this special look at what curator, Scott Barton claims is one of the best jobs in the City. Take some time off to watch this special episode, then plan a visit to the zoo, but leave your work boots at home. Reid Park Zoo is open everyday from 9 - 4 p.m. except Christmas Day.
