Arizona Symphonic Winds - Music in the Park

Arizona Symphonic Winds are starting their 2018 season this week. All concerts are at 7 pm at the Lázló Veres Amphitheater at Udall Park (7200 E Tanque Verde). Admission is free. Bring a comfortable chair and a picnic dinner. 

May 12 - Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto: Tucson Symphony violinist Joseph Rousos-Hammond brings this beloved concerto to the Udall stage. Overture to Martha and the Tucson March are among the other selections. Not to be missed. 

May 19 - Lázló Veres's Favorites: Selections include Rossini's bubbly Barber of Seville overture, a tribute to the Big Band Era, Sonoran Celebrations and others including March Lázló.

May 26 - An Evening with John Phillip Sousa: A long time Tucson favorite, J. P. Sousa in uniform brings a variety of selections to the stage including Concerto for Two Trumpets by Vivaldi featuring Andre Veres and Kenny Saufley on trumpets and four outstanding high school clarinet players performing Clarinet Candy.

June 2 - Stars of the Future: Trumpeter Mason Christofferson and clarinetist Quinton Nickum, both seniors at Mountain View High School, are featured. Other selections include beautiful melodies from the Merry Widow, Hungarian Dances and more.
