Paul's Note - December 28, 2018

I’m keeping this week’s newsletter short given our holiday schedule. Still, I’d like to give a shout out to the firefighters at Tucson Fire’s Station 9, which serves the area around Craycroft and 22nd Street.

Some of you may have caught the story on KGUN over the weekend. 96 year-old Clarence Ellquist fell off a ladder while doing work in his yard. Firefighters responded and he was treated for a concussion and a nasty cut.

The best part of the story comes next: the firefighters returned to the house to finish up Clarence’s yard work. They found out that Clarence was a veteran of the attack on Pearl Harbor, and they felt like a little weed pulling and raking was the least they could do for this American hero.

My friend John Yoakum, Clarence’s son-in-law, let me know that he had the last of the staples removed on Monday and that he will be celebrating his 97th birthday early next month.

Thank you Tucson Fire for the work you do, and happy birthday Clarence.

Happy New Year! Remember, my office will be open for limited hours on Monday, December 31. We will be closing at noon that day and, of course, closed on New Years Day.
