Traffic Alert - North Rillito Interceptor Project

This is a series of traffic alerts that will be issued throughout the construction of the North Rillito Interceptor (NRI) Sewer Rehabilitation Project. These alerts will announce construction, detour and street closure information as it affects residents, businesses and traffic within the area. The 10-mile long NRI project is being completed in phases; the current phase is bounded on the north by River Road, the south by the Rillito River, the east by Craycroft Road and the west by Swan Road.
 
On Monday night, July 6 and Tuesday night, July 7 the contractor will begin the process of removing the sewer bypass system, which was placed prior to rehabilitation work on the sewer interceptor lines. This removal will be completed at night from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. The following traffic control will be in place during the removal process:
 
  • Traffic along southbound Craycroft Road, between River Road and the Gregory traffic signal, will be shifted to the left lane
 
On Wednesday, July 8, 2015 the contractor will begin paving all school driveways impacted by construction, along the west side of Craycroft Road. The following traffic control will be in place during the paving process:
 
  • Traffic along southbound Craycroft Road, between the south end of the bridge through the Gregory traffic signal, will be shifted to the left lane
  • After paving is completed, all barricades will be removed
 
Beginning Monday, July 13 through Thursday, July 16 the contractor will begin a coating process on the manhole located north of the bridge on Craycroft Road near River Road. This process will be completed at night from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. The following traffic control will be in place during this time:
 
  • Traffic along southbound Craycroft Road, between River Road and the Gregory traffic signal, will be shifted to the right lane
  • Closure of the center turn lane on Craycroft Road, between River Road and the Gregory traffic signal
