Tucson's Birthday Celebration

A free event to celebrate Tucson’s long and rich history, focusing on the community’s and region’s food heritage, will be held at the Presidio Museum, on the corner of Church and Washington Streets downtown on Monday, Aug. 21. The gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the program starts at 6 p.m. It is presented by the Tucson-Pima County Historical Commission and the Tucson Presidio Trust for Historic Preservation/Presidio Museum with major sponsorship from Desert Diamond Casinos and Entertainment.

Other activities include cannon firing by the Presidio Garrison, live music from Los Changuitos Feos de Tucson prior to the program and a performance by Danzacultura Mexicana afterward, Tucson’s historic flags displayed by the Presidio Garrison and friends, display tables by local preservation and historical organizations, and free birthday cake sponsored by Long Realty.
