Crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), are scheduled to begin underground electrical conduit work today at the Wilmot Road and Fairmount Street intersection in preparation of an upcoming repaving project on Wilmot Road from Pima Street to Golf Links Road.
The conduit work is scheduled to be complete in early March 2018. Crews will work Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Once the conduit work is complete, crews will begin lowering manhole covers and water valve covers on Wilmot Road from Pima Street to Golf Links Road. The utility lowering work is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 5, 2018 and is scheduled to be complete in mid April 2018. Crews will work Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day The milling (removing asphalt) and repaving work is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 16, 2018 and is scheduled to be complete in early May 2018. Crews will work Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
Crews are scheduled to raise the manhole covers and water valve covers flush with the new asphalt in mid May 2018.
The above schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. At least one lane of travel in each direction will be maintained during the work. Business and residential access will be maintained at all times during the project. The traveling public can expect delays when driving in the work areas. Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in these work areas.
