Postal Inspectors across the country work hard to protect your mail. But with deliveries to more than 100 million addresses, the Postal Inspection Service can't do the job alone.
Here's what you can do to protect your mail from thieves:
Tucson Fire units responded to a swift water call near the intersection of S. Elizabeth Drive and W. Lincoln Street after an SUV was swept downstream and flipped over with two occupants still inside. Multiple calls were made to 9-1-1 reporting the vehicle being washed away, with some reports stating that two adults and two kids were swept away. A swift water response was immediately dispatched. The car entered a flooded wash on S.16th Avenue when it was swept downstream. The vehicle flipped over and came to a rest near S.
Crews from Southern Arizona Paving, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), continue work to improve pavement conditions on 22nd Street between Kolb Road and Sarnoff Drive.
Crews are currently repaving 22nd Street between Kolb Road and Pantano Road from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. The repaving work on this section of 22nd Street is scheduled to be complete on Sunday, August 2, 2015. No paving work will take place on Friday, July 31, 2015 and Saturday, August 1,

The Sun Tran management company, Professional Transit Management/Transdev and Teamsters Loval 104 are continuing to meet and negotiate the labor contract which expires on July 31 at 11:59 pm. Andy Marshall, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 104 scheduled a strike vote for Saturday July 25.

The intersection of Houghton Road and 22nd Street will be temporarily closed in order to complete waterline relocation and major construction work in the intersection as quickly as possible and avoid prolonged travel restrictions.
Signage indicating detour routes and segments of Houghton Road and 22nd Street that will be open to local traffic only will be in place to help guide traffic.
This is a series of traffic alerts that will be issued throughout the construction of the North Rillito Interceptor (NRI) Sewer Rehabilitation Project. These alerts will announce construction, detour and street closure information as it affects residents, businesses and traffic within the area. The 10-mile long NRI project is being completed in phases; the current phase’s construction boundaries are from Woodland Road to just east of Pantano Road.
·Sun Tran Routes 1 through 99 will run on a Sunday schedule on Saturday, July 4. Regular scheduled service resumes on Sunday, July 5.
The milling (removing asphalt) and repaving work on Broadway from Pantano Road to Camino Seco will begin on Monday, June 29, 2015. Crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will work each day from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Crews will mill a section of roadway one day and repave that section of roadway the following day.
On Tuesday, May 26, 2015, crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), began work to improve the pavement conditions on Speedway Boulevard from Pantano Road to Camino Seco and on Pantano Road from Speedway Boulevard to Broadway and on Broadway from Pantano Road to Camino Seco.
