On Wednesday, November 26, 2014, Felipe Lundin passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and his beloved wife, Donna. His family extends their appreciation to the community for their thoughts and prayers over the past few weeks.

In support of safe, visible and lawful bicycle riding, the City of Tucson Bicycle and Pedestrian Program and Pima Association of Governments will partner with Living Streets Alliance to put on “Light the Night,” a bike light distribution and bicycle safety education campaign. Each month at different locations across the region, teams of volunteers distribute free front and rear light sets to people on bikes spotted riding without them.
Since October, more than 400 light sets and 65 free helmets for youth have been distributed to promote bicycle and pedestrian safety.

In Tucson, we generally have Summer,Winter, and very little in between. We can be challenged by going from near 90 degree high temperatures one week and lows in the 30’s just days later. As the need for warming the house increases, so can the dangers associated with fireplaces, furnaces, and space heaters. Below are a few reminders as you heat up while the temperatures drop.

Sun Tran, KGUN 9 News, and Sam Levitz Furniture have partnered to sponsor a one-day “Stuff-the-Bus” event benefitting EMERGE! Center Against Domestic Abuse. The event, which will be held on Friday, October 17, helps promote Domestic Violence Awareness Month. A Sun Tran bus will be located at Sam Levitz Furniture’s eastside location at 100 North Pantano Road. Donations will be accepted from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Volunteer to drive for ITN Greater Tucson

ITN Greater Tucson is a 501(c)(3) non-profit transportation alternative providing rides for seniors 60 and older 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We also provide rides for adults of any age with limited vision. ITN Greater Tucson is a part of a national organization, ITN America, which supports 26 ITN affliates across the counrty.

Tucson Fire Joins in Fire Prevention Week

It's time for Fire Prevention Week, and from October 5-11 the Tucson Fire Department is joining forces with the nonprofit National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to remind local residents that ‘Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives'. During this year's fire safety campaign, fire departments will be spreading the word about the dangers of fires and how a working smoke alarm can give a family the notice they need to get out safely.
Last Day for Voter Registration

If you aren't already registered, remember that today is the last day for voter registration if you expect to vote in the general election. You can come by our office at 7575 East Speedway to register before five and we will make sure to get the forms to the recorder's office.
