C.J. comes to the Ward 3 office as the former campaign manager for Prop 206, the ballot initiative that raised the minimum wage here in Tucson in 2021. With a background in campaigning and political organizing, C.J. is excited to bring his perspective on social, economic, and racial justice to the meaningful work our city council does.
Before entering politics professionally, C.J. spent 12 years as a permanently touring musician, living out of a van, playing concerts most nights of the week, and rarely staying in any place for more than a day or two. Having lived and traveled all over the US and abroad, he chose Tucson as the place to finally put down roots in 2020 amidst the pandemic, and was immediately thrust into the community of political activism. He has volunteered with Pima County Justice for All, Owl & Panther, and has a radio show on KXCI.
