Matt Kopec was born and raised in Tucson. After graduating from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology in 2011, he gained professional experience in the energy efficiency field. He also holds his private pilot’s license.
An active member of the community, Matt chaired the City of Tucson Ward Redistricting Committee and served on the 2012 $100 million Road Bond Oversight Commission and the Bond Project Advisory Committee for the City of Tucson. In 2018, he was elected to the Amphithater Unified School District Governing Board.
In 2016 Matt served as State Representative for LD9. He re-joined the Ward 3 staff in January 2017.
