With special thanks to Desert Diamond Casinos and Entertainment for its
generous donation, the 20th Annual “A” Mountain Fireworks
Celebration will start at approximately 9:15 p.m., Monday, July 4.
"A big thanks, once again, to Desert Diamond Casinos and Entertainment
for generously sponsoring the fireworks. Thanks also to 94.9 MIXfm for
providing the soundtrack," said Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild. "The
4th of July is a time for family and a time for all of us to reflect on
what it means to live in a democracy."
Residents may enjoy the “A” Mountain Fireworks Celebration from the
Tucson Convention Center’s (TCC) Parking Lot B (off Cushing Street
between Granada and Church Avenue) or Parking Lot C (off Granada between
Broadway Boulevard and Cushing Street). Parking will be free. There also
will be food vendors (burgers, hot dogs, ice cream, and refreshments)
available from 7-9 p.m. A patriotic soundtrack to the fireworks display
will be broadcast on 94.9 MIXfm and MIXfm.com.
The Sun Link streetcar provides convenient access to the TCC at the
Cushing Street stops and will run until midnight to accommodate holiday
crowds. Parking will be available at the TCC and throughout downtown.
Beginning at 5 p.m. on July 4, Mission Road will be closed from Starr
Pass Boulevard to Congress Street. Mission Road will reopen
approximately one hour following the completion of the fireworks show.
Additionally, the eastbound exit ramp at I-10 and Congress and the
westbound I-10 exit ramps at Silverlake and Congress will be closed from
9-11 p.m. to ease congestion. See the attached map for road closures
related to this event.
In order to accommodate the fireworks display, there will be restricted
access to Sentinel Peak Park. Sentinel Peak Road will close at 6 p.m. on
Sunday, July 3, and will reopen to all traffic Tuesday, July 5.
