4R Communities Alliance “Project Sticker Shock” Cinco de mayo Kickoff

Join 4R Communities Alliance (a part of Our Family Services’ Drug Free Communities program), Amistades Inc, the Community Prevention Coalition of Pasadera Behavioral Health Services and Liberty Partnership Kino Neighborhood Council, as they “shock” convenience stores and kick off pre-Cinco de mayo Project Sticker Shock season, a youth-led substance prevention campaign. Participants will place eye-catching stickers on beer containers as part of a countywide effort to take a proactive stand against underage drinking and its related issues. The purpose of Project Sticker Shock is to change adult attitudes about selling and providing alcohol to minors.

In addition to convenience stores the 4R Communities Alliance will also partner with two smoke shops in the 29th Street area that will display posters and stickers. Youth will not participate at these locations but their posters and stickers will be used.

Members of the press are welcome to join the youth as they place the stickers on alcohol containers. Participants will be available for interview.
