The City of Tucson’s Fleet Services Division ranked 15th on the 2014
list of Top 100 Best Fleets in North America by the 100 Best Fleets
Program. The award program recognizes and rewards peak performing public
sector fleet operations in North America. The Fleet Services Division
operates the City’s motor pool by providing maintenance and repair to
police cruisers, garbage trucks, and other vehicles.
The mission of the 100 Best Fleets program is to identify outstanding
operations for others to emulate, provide recognition for the community
the winning fleets serve, promote pride in the industry, and encourage
more individuals to consider fleet operations as a career choice. The
program also identifies and encourages ever-increasing levels of
performance improvement with the fleet industry.
The City of Tucson fleet was acknowledged for its operational
efficiency, significant savings and increased fleet availability.
“This award recognizes our continuing commitment to provide excellent
customer service,” said Fleet Services Administrator Tammy Smith.
“This is achieved by understanding our customers’ needs and
enhancing our services to meet those needs.”
100 Best Fleets is sponsored by author and fleet consultant Tom C.
