Happy Fourth of July

Ward 5 Council Member Richard Fimbres and his staff want to wish everyone and their families a happy and safe Fourth of July. Also a reminder to keep your pets safe from potential Fourth of July activities.

It is important during these times, to be mindful of the heat, careful using fireworks and please don’t drink and drive. If you choose to drink, please designate a driver, call a cab, use Uber or Lyft.

Also, if you are out and its raining, don’t drive through washes or flooded roads. Arizona has its stupid motorist law and it is strictly enforced.

If it is hot out, please make sure you have plenty of water with you.

On Sunday, July 4, our community will enjoy the fireworks display, thanks to the generous sponsorship by the Tohono O’odham nation. I want to thank the Tohono O’odham nation, Chairman Ned Norris Jr., and their Council for this.

City of Tucson offices will be closed Monday, July 5.

The Ward 5 Council Office will reopen Tuesday, July 6.
