Nighttime striping work continues on I-10 and I-19 in Tucson

Motorists traveling on Interstate 10 and Interstate 19 may encounter overnight delays over the next week while the Arizona Department of Transportation continues work on restriping segments of both highways in Tucson.

Crews will replace striping during “rolling operations” between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. tonight and overnight Thursday, July 9 on I-19 between Ajo Way and the junction with I-10. Motorists are asked to drive cautiously and move past the striping machinery when it is safe to pass.

Similar rolling operations are scheduled in both directions on I-10 between 29th Street and Kino Parkway during the same overnight hours tonight and tomorrow night, then continuing nightly from Sunday, July 12 through Wednesday, July 15.

Delays are expected to be brief.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
