Sign installation on Kino Parkway to require closures Thursday night

Closures on I-10 ramp and on Kino Parkway to be in place until early Friday

Motorists traveling east on Interstate 10 and Kino Parkway in Tucson will encounter travel restrictions Thursday night while the Arizona Department of Transportation continues a project to replace highway signs.

The installation of a 23-foot wide sign spanning Kino Parkway south of I-10 will require the following closures from 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12 until approximately 2 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13:

  • The eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Kino Parkway will be closed to all traffic
  • Southbound Kino Parkway will be closed at Ajo Loop Road, which is located south of Tucson Marketplace Boulevard

The closures will allow workers to install the sign above Kino Parkway while providing alternate travel routes to motorists before they reach the work zone.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
