The Sun Link Tucson Streetcar received two awards from the American Public Works Association.
The project was awarded the Public Works Project of the Year and the project management for Joe Chase of TDOT.
Congratulations to Joe, TDOT and those involved with the Streetcar Project.
The 24th annual Metropolitan Education Commission Crystal Apple Awards was held Friday May 2, at the Desert Diamond Casino Resort.

A farewell mass and luncheon was held Sunday, May 4, for Father Bart Hutcherson of the St. Thomas More Newman Center at the U of A. Our community wants to thank Father Bart for his ten years of service to Tucson and we will miss him. We wish him success in his future endeavors.
Hundreds of bowlers from across the United States and Canada will be in Tucson May 12-18 for the 34th Annual IGBO Conference and Bowling Tournament.
Bowling will take place at Tucson Bowl for the Team Event and Lucky Strike Bowl for the Singles and Doubles Events.
This tournament will mark the end of the work and effort by the Tucson Tournament Committee, an all volunteer group of bowlers. I want to thank the Committee:
Kevin Wheeler, Richard Foster, Chris King, David Laing, Paul Katona, Anthony DiBartolomeo, Jodi Cantrell, Julie Ortt, Leslie McIntire, Shana Huber, Alan Goldberg, Dan Diffie and lastly, my aide Mark Kerr for their hard work on putting this international event together for Tucson.
