SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR WILDFIRE COMMUNITY PREPAREDNESS DAY BUFFELGRASS REMOVAL PROJECT
TUCSON, AZ – In honor of Wildfire Community Preparedness Day the Southern Arizona Buffelgrass Coordination Center, Tucson Clean & Beautiful, and Cherry Avenue Neighborhood Association are hosting a buffelgrass removal project.
Join us on Saturday, May 2nd to remove invasive buffelgrass, a serious fire hazard. Our work will also include neighborhood outreach, sharing information about the buffelgrass threat with area residents. There are various “job” options, volunteers of all skill levels are welcome.
WHEN: Saturday, May 2nd, 8am-12pm
WHERE: Desert Shadows Park, 5041 S Greenway Dr (near Campbell Ave and Irvington Rd).
WHAT TO BRING: Water bottle, work gloves, and a tool - shovel or digging bar (if able). We provide snacks and ice water refills.
WHAT TO WEAR: Long pants, long-sleeved shirt, closed-toe shoes, hat, sunscreen.
