The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department, along with the
Arizona Amateur Softball Association (ASA) and Visit Tucson, will be
hosting the ASA 18 and under girls fastpitch Class A Western National
Championship tournament from July 30 through August 3, 2014. The
tournament will be held at Lincoln Park, 8116 E. Escalante Rd, at the
new Lincoln softball complex. This complex features 4 lighted softball
fields, bleacher seating with roof for shade and a concessions building
with restrooms. Other amenities at this location include another 4 field
softball complex at upper Lincoln Park, a swimming pool and recreation
center, soccer fields, a .6-mile walking path, a ¾-mile multi-use path,
ramadas, a playground, and four sand volleyball courts.

There 17 teams from across the west coast that will participate in this
tournament. “I commend you for your athleticism, self-discipline and
competitive spirit, all of which have brought you to Tucson for this
distinguished competition. Welcome to Tucson, congratulations and the
best of luck to each of you,” said City of Tucson Mayor Jonathan

host the 2014 18U ASA Western ‘A’ National Championship,” said
City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Director Fred Gray. “In Tucson we
recognize the tremendous dedication it takes from the players to get to
this level and we will do everything in our power to make sure this is
an experience that the players and their families will never forget.”

With the partnership between Tucson Parks and Recreation, Arizona ASA,
and Visit Tucson, we are able to welcome the teams and their families to
enjoy a great weekend in Tucson, Arizona. Some of the festivities
include a social at Main Gate Square, Opening Ceremonies at Hillenbrand
Stadium, and of course the softball games themselves which will take
place Thursday through Sunday beginning at 8 a.m. Opening Ceremonies
will begin at 7:30 p.m. and Mayor Jonathan Rothschild will be throwing
out the first pitch. A lot of planning went into making this tournament
happen and we hope that this will align Tucson, Arizona and Lincoln Park
to become one of the premiere softball tournament sites in the country.

Admission is $25 tournament pass or $10 daily pass for adults; $15 for a
tournament pass, $5 daily pass for youth 17 and under and seniors over
62. Children 8 and under are free.
