TUCSON WARD 5 COUNCIL MEMBER TO BE INDUCTED INTO THE ARIZONA VETERANS’ HALL OF FAME

 

TUCSON – Tucson Ward 5 Council Member Richard Fimbres will be inducted in the Arizona Veterans’ Hall of Fame. Council Member Fimbres is part of the Arizona Veterans’ Hall of Fame, Class of 2021. The induction ceremony will take place Friday, October 15 in Scottsdale.

 

Richard Fimbres served in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserves and U.S. Army National Guard in a 27 ½ year career serving our nation. In his U.S. Army career, Richard Fimbres served as a military policeman, patrol and narcotics dog handler, field medic, and patient administrative specialist.

 

Fimbres followed his father and uncle’s and joined the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He credits them for his military career. He also thanks Lt. Col. Jerry Petersen (U.S. Army Retired) for his nomination and the Arizona Veterans’ Hall of Fame Committee for their work and consideration of his nomination as well.

 

Council Member Fimbres is also being recognized for his support of Tucson Veteran’s, the funding from the city for the Veterans’ Parade and his work with schools, teachers, and students, to create thank you cards, letters and posters that are given to Veterans at the Southern Arizona V.A. every Memorial Day and Veterans’ Day.

The Arizona Veterans’ Hall of Fame Society was established on 9 October 2007, blending the unique backgrounds and talents of Veterans who have been recognized for their outstanding efforts and achievements to our communities outside of their military service.
