The TreeCycle Collection sites closed on Sunday, January 11, 2015 and the trees collected will be chipped. The chips will continue to be available to residents at the Udall Park recycling area, Randolph Golf Course parking lot, and the Los Reales Landfill.

25th Annual Pueblo Gardens MLK Breakfast - January 17

The Pueblo Gardens Neighborhood Association will be hosting their 25th Annual Martin Luther King Breakfast Saturday, January 17, at the Holmes Tuttle Boys and Girls Club, located at 2585 East 36th Street in Ward 5.

 

Doors will open at 7:15 am and the breakfast begins at 8:00 am sharp.

 

I want to congratulate James Christopher of the Pueblo Gardens Neighborhood Association and his committee for their work organizing this breakfast for these 25 years.  It is the only neighborhood association in Tucson to hold such an event.

 

31ST ANNUAL SENIOR OLYMPIC FESTIVAL

Tucson Parks and Recreation presents the 31st Annual Senior Olympic
Festival. This festival is a celebration of fitness to promote healthy
living and an active lifestyle among seniors. This is Tucson’s largest
organized, annual senior activity and is open to anyone 50 years of age
or older.

What: The 31st Annual Senior Olympic Festival, featuring nearly 100
events and activities at more than 30 venues throughout the City of
Tucson.

ORDER LOW-COST DESERT TREES NOW FOR SPRING PLANTING:BE DESERT SMART, SHADE YOUR HOME WITH TREES

The Trees for Tucson program is now open for requests for low-cost trees for home delivery in the popular spring planting period. While trees can be planted throughout the year in the Tucson area, planting in the spring when trees are coming out of dormancy and the temperature is still cooler can ensure successful, healthy trees.

TEAM UP TO CLEAN UP YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD - If beautifying your neighborhood is on your 2015 to do list, the City's Environmental Service (ES) department can help. ES will provide roll-off containers (dumpsters) for your use and will haul away the debris at no cost. To participate in this program, you and members of your association or group must be ES residential customers and an incorporated homeowners association, or an organized group of 10 or more residents. Sign installation on I-10 in Tucson to bring restrictions next week

 

Motorists traveling on Interstate 10 in Tucson will encounter travel restrictions next week while the Arizona Department of Transportation continues a project to install new highway sign structures at numerous locations.

Water Main Work at 22nd St. and Country Club – Dec. 17-19

Valve work on a water transmission main continues at 22nd Street at
Country Club Road.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., from Wednesday, December 17, through Friday,
December 19, eastbound 22nd St. just west of Country Club will have the
following traffic restrictions:
- eastbound left turn lane to northbound Country Club will be closed
- eastbound inside lane will be closed

Steel plates are temporarily installed to allow traffic in all lanes
during hours when work is not taking place. There is no interruption of
water service to customers.
