Contaminants of Emerging Concern

Recent scientific research has indicated that exposure to contaminants of emerging concern (CECs, aka emerging contaminants) may pose risks to human health. Tucson Water established its “Sentry Program” in 2008. The program has detected trace levels of CECs in the drinking water system and Tucson Water has been tracking the annual sampling results to proactively identify and address potential CEC issues.

The Sentry Program is a proactive, voluntary monitoring component of the routine water quality management program. Final annual reports are summarized in the documents below.
