Glenn St. Closed from Craycroft West to Woodland Ave. Due to Reclaimed Water Line Repairs

UPDATE (3/24, 1500 hrs): Glenn St. remains closed from Craycroft Blvd. west to Woodland Ave. as repairs continue on a 30” reclaimed water line that failed at multiple locations.

Motorists and bicyclists may continue on Glenn using San Francisco Blvd. to Woodland Ave. on the north.

Estimated time for repairs is about another three weeks. Due to the poor condition of the pipeline in this stretch, additional repair/replacement is taking place. Drinking water service to customers is not affected.

Motorists are asked to drive carefully for the safety of workers and neighborhood residents while traveling in the affected area.

Background information: The first breaks occurred in the second week of February; more happened in March. Due to the performance history of the one-mile section of this pipe between Craycroft and Swan Roads, additional inspections were made when it was taken out of service that identified more areas that were prone to failure. A decision was made to expand the scope of repairs which has increased the time of traffic restrictions on Glenn.
