Senior Programs

Tucson Parks and Recreation offers a variety of programs and services for seniors at its recreation centers. The Senior Activity Card provides quality year-round programming, activities, services, events, field trips, educational opportunities, computer access, health programs, and volunteer opportunities to those ages 50 and older. See the individual centers' web pages for more information on the programs and activities offered at each site.

Recreation Center use is free at the following centers: Fred Archer, Cherry Avenue, El Rio, Freedom, Marty Birdman, Oury, Quincie Douglas, and Santa Rosa. *Facility access is free; however, programs with affiliated fees still would be in effect for users.

Card privileges include use at fitness/weight room facilities and indoor walking track (where available) on senior activity days only. There is a separate charge for these facilities on other days. You do not have to be a Senior Activity Card holder to participate in senior nutrition programs.

The Senior Activity Card fees offset a portion of the cost of providing senior programs and services. Some services and activities, such as field trips and classes, may require additional fees to participate.

Card privileges include use of fitness/weight room facilities and indoor walking track (where available) on senior club meeting days only. There is a separate charge for these facilities on other days.

In response to federal-level funding reductions and the expiration of pandemic-era funding expansions, Pima Council on Aging (PCOA) is announcing several necessary changes to the network of congregate meal sites for older adults across Pima County. As a consequence of this funding shortage, Catholic Community Services (CCS) will be suspending operations at two meal sites after Friday, June 13. Additionally, three PCOA/city-run sites will close after Friday, June 27. For more information on these changes visit the PCOA website
