Ramadas

  • Reservation is for ramada use only.
  • Some ramadas are equipped with electricity, picnic tables, grills, nearby playground equipment, restrooms, and other amenities.
  • View detailed information including ramada locations, availability, and amenities.
  • Power is not guaranteed.
  • Picnic tables are available, but we cannot guarantee their placement at specific ramadas.
  • Open-pit fires are prohibited. Gas/propane grills are also prohibited.
  • Ramadas are reserved for the full day (8 a.m.-7 p.m.).
  • Reservations may be made up to one year in advance.
  • Beer and Wine Permits may be reserved online, by phone, or in person.
  • Amusement equipment permits may only be made by phone or in person.
  • When you make your reservation you will be asked the type of event (picnic, family reunion, special event, tournament) and number of attendees.
  • If your activity is open to the public, you may be required to obtain liability insurance.
  • For parties of more than 200 people, submit a special event application .
  • Always have your reservation permit with you during your event.

Fees and Payment

  • Beer & Wine permits are $25 for City residents and $37.50 for non-city residents. 
  • Proof of address will be required to confirm you are City of Tucson resident.
  • Payment is due in full upon booking.
  • Payment types: Cash, credit/debit cards, or checks/money orders (payable to the City of Tucson)

Cancellations and Refunds

  • Call 520-791-4873, option 3.
  • Requests must be received at least one (1) business day prior to the reservation.
  • If your event is rained out, requests must be received within five (5) working days after event to receive credit for the rainout and/or to reschedule your event.
  • To receive a refund for beer/wine permits, the actual permit must be returned to Tucson Parks and Recreation Administration prior to the event.
  • No refunds will be issued after the reservation date.

Amusement Equipment

  • Permit must include City approved vendor's name
  • Kiddie trains and pony rides are not permitted in Reid Park
  • Personally owned inflatables/amusement equipment are not permitted

Become an approved vendor

Any ramada reservation in City parks that would like to have amusement equipment must use one of our approved vendors. For questions, call 520-791-4873.

Requirements

  1. Cost is $300 for a 6-month term due upon approval of the application. ($50/month)

  2. Must agree to all Amusement Equipment Vendor Permit Conditions. (to be linked when final)

  3. Vendor must have a City of Tucson Business License.

  4. Vendor must have a Certificate of Insurance. (see example here(PDF, 172KB))

  • COI must have commercial general liability in the amount of $2 million for each occurrence, and $4 million aggregate, naming the City of Tucson, City of Tucson as additional insured and certificate holder with the following address PO BOX 27210, Tucson Az, 85726-7210.
  • For climbing walls and rock walls (we do not allow inflatable climbing walls), the amount of $5 million for each occurrence is required.
  • A 10-day Cancelation Clause is required for all insurance policies.
  • Auto Liability - $1 million combined single limit (each accident) required if the operator owns a fleet of vehicles.
  • Workers Compensation – Arizona Statutory Requirement (for each employee) 
  •  Failure to maintain proper liability insurance will result in immediate revocation or denial of a permit.
  • The City of Tucson Special Events Office reserves the right to review each event and determine if additional insurance coverage requirements are necessary.

Beer/Wine Permits

  • Consumption of beer or wine in a City park requires a permit issued to the responsible party for the event.
  • Beer/Wine Permit fees (reservations up to 100 people)
    • $25/City-resident
    • $37.50/Non-City resident
  • Permits can be obtained online with a ramada reservation or in person at recreation centers or the Administration Office, 900 S. Randolph Way.
  • If you need to add a beer/wine permit after making an online reservation, please call 520-791-4873.

Beer/Wine Permit Holder Guidelines

  1. Applicant will be responsible for assuring any members of his/her party that are drinking beer or wine are of legal age to drink according to Arizona state law.
  2. Permit is not transferable. If lost or stolen, permit is not refundable.
  3. Permit valid for date and location identified only. Not valid for entire park.
  4. Applicants must retain permit and permit must be made available upon request from proper park or police official.
  5. This permit is not an authorization to sell beer or wine. The sale of alcoholic beverages in city parks is strictly prohibited without a special event liquor license issued by the State of Arizona.
  6. No glass containers. TCC 21-3 (3)(3)
  7. Per Tucson City Code #21-8, it is unlawful for any person to consume or have in their possession any spirituous liquor in a public park.
  8. By obtaining this permit, the permit holder understands that the drinking age is 21 and anyone found in violation may be subject to a criminal charge according to Arizona state law.

Gene C. Reid Park Ice Cream Vendor Permits are in a Lottery System.

  • Lottery is held at Tucson Parks and Recreation Administration (900 S. Randolph Way) the first Monday in December.
  • Vendor permits are issued on two month basis.

Special Event and Daily Vendor Permit Information

  • Special event permits are issued for a specific park in conjunction with a special event
  • Daily fees are required for the duration of the event

Party, Wedding, and Meeting Space

  • A variety of ramadas and special places are available to accommodate large group gatherings.
  • Meeting/conference rooms of varying size, many with kitchen facilities, are available to accommodate indoor wedding receptions and parties. Reservations are made by calling the centers directly.

  • Events of over 200 people or open to public or in special areas people should contact special events.  

Ballfield and Court Reservations

Basketball court

  • A variety of ballfields and courts are available for reservation. Some may be lighted for evening use.
  • View detailed information on our courts and baseball, softball, multi-purpose, and soccer fields.
  • Reserve with Sports Unit at 520-791-4870.
  • Rates and Fees vary by facility.
  • If an activity is open to the public, proof of liability insurance may be required.
