Tucson 250+ is a year-long celebration honoring over 4,000 years of rich history, heritage, and culture in Tucson and the surrounding. This milestone marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of Presidio San Agustín del Tucson in 1775, the historic moment that set Tucson on its path to becoming the community we know today.
The “plus (+)” recognizes and honors the Indigenous peoples and diverse communities whose stories shaped this region long before and long after its founding. Together, we’re commemorating the spirit of hope, resilience, and connection that defines Tucson.
Festivities are happening all year long, leading up to a flagship celebration on Aug. 23, 2025, at the Presidio Museum—the birthplace of modern Tucson.
