What are your office hours?

Office hours for the Tucson City Prosecutor's Office are 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office is closed on all major holidays.

Where are you located?

Our address is 103 East Alameda Street, 5th floor, Suite 501. We are between 6th Avenue and Scott on the north side of the street. We are near the Ronstadt bus station.

What is the City Prosecutor’s Office?

The Tucson City Prosecutor’s Office is the criminal division of the City Attorney’s Office. The City Attorney is Mike G. Rankin and the head of the criminal division is Tucson City Prosecutor Alan L. Merritt.

Can you answer my legal questions or give me legal advice?

No. The Tucson City Prosecutor’s Office is prevented by law from answering legal questions or offering legal advice.

I received paperwork with Alan L. Merritt’s name on it. Is he the assigned prosecutor?

No. Mr. Merritt is the Tucson City Prosecutor for the Criminal Division of the Tucson City Attorney’s Office, and as such, his name appears on most office correspondence and most court documents. The person working on your case is one of many prosecuting attorneys in our office. Please call our office at (520)791-4104 and request to speak with the prosecuting attorney handling your case.

Can I talk to the assigned prosecutor about my case?

Yes. The assigned prosecutor may discuss your case with you as long as you are not represented by an attorney. However, if you are represented by an attorney, the assigned prosecutor can only speak to your attorney.

You can call our main telephone number at 791-4104 and request to speak with the assigned attorney. Be prepared to provide your docket or citation number. You may have to leave a message for the prosecutor.

If you are a victim on a case, refer to the Victim Information Center for information on who to contact in the office.

When is my next court date?

The Tucson City Prosecutor's Office can provide you with the next court date if charges have been filed against the defendant in Tucson City Court. Be prepared to provide the defendant’s name and the docket or citation number when you call.

How do I file a complaint against an officer/deputy?

Complaints against law enforcement agencies should be directed to the specific agency that is the subject of the complaint.

How do I obtain copies of police reports/disclosure?

I have an animal charge, may I take Diversion?

Regular Diversion may be available. You may discuss this with the assigned prosecutor.

Where can I park when I come to the City Prosecutor’s Office?

Two pay parking lots are adjacent to the City Court building. One is across the street from the entrance and the second is just east of the building between Toole and Alameda. They charge between $5.00 and $7.00 dollars.

Limited street parking is available. The Justice Court garage is just to the west and the Pennington Street Garage is half a block south.
