Homeless Court

The Tucson City Court Homeless Court Program is designed to assist individuals participating in mental health, substance use treatment, or “community service” to address fines/fees they owe. Fines/fees may restrict housing availability, employment opportunities, driver license, and vehicle registration privileges. Participants must have a case manager or advocate that can present community service or treatment hours to the Court.

Homeless Court is held the 3rd Friday morning of every month. These sessions are frequently held outside Tucson City Court. While the judge may be located remotely, the courtroom remains open to all participants and the public. The Court accommodates both in person and Zoom attendance.

Homeless Court also allows individuals engaged in treatment to address outstanding City Court arrest warrants. Agencies that are working with unsheltered individuals who are applying for housing vouchers can submit a Motion to Quash to Homeless Court. Warrant quash sessions are held as soon as possible following the Court’s receipt of a motion.

Homeless Court Application Process

To participate in the Tucson City Court Homeless Court Program, case managers and participants are required to submit a completed Pro Se Motion and Homeless Court application. The completed application and motion can be emailed to the Homeless Court email address listed below.
