Rainwater Harvesting Grants and Loans

In partnership with Sonora Environmental Research Institute, Tucson Water offers rainwater harvesting grants and loans for qualifying customers to install active and/or passive systems in their homes. Sonora Environmental Research Institute will screen customers and coordinate installation of system on behalf of Tucson Water.

Program Details

Customers may qualify for a grant and/or loans to help them install a rainwater harvesting system in their property.

Grants

  • Families with an income equal to or less than 100% of the Federal Income Poverty Guidelines will receive a grant of up to $1,000. 
  • Families with an income between 100% and 200% of the Federal Income Poverty Guidelines will receive a grant of up to $750.

Loans

Zero-interest loans are to help pay for the cost of the system and available for all qualifying families. Loans are up to $2,000 for 12 month payment plans are available. If you obtain a loan, you must make a deposit of $20.00 or 10% of its value (higher amount will be applied).

Tucson Water single-family residential customers that meet the criteria below can apply for this program.
