Tucson Mayor Regina Romero and Arizona Housing Director Joan Serviss led a groundbreaking celebration on Wednesday, Aug. 23, for the City of Tucson’s Milagro on Oracle affordable housing project, 2425 N. Oracle Road, which was created by the City's Housing and Community Development department.

Milagro, a redevelopment of the former No-Tel Motel property, will provide 63 residences for Tucsonans 55 years and older, including 19 units for unsheltered individuals. Milagro is the City’s first state Low Income Housing Tax Credit project in 10 years.

The City’s new nonprofit development arm, El Pueblo Housing Development, will co-develop the project along with Gorman & Company, a national affordable housing development firm.

The project is part of the City’s 10-point Housing Affordable Strategy for Tucson (HAST), which calls for the creation of more affordable housing. The building is expected to open in 2025.
