COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT TO DATE
Parks and Recreation circulated an online survey from Sept. 26 to Oct. 19, 2025, to reintroduce the community to the planned improvements and learn more about what folks would like to see enhanced at Udall Park. 1,266 community members participated in the survey and shared some excellent feedback! Please check out the results below.
On Dec. 30, 2025, Parks and Recreation worked with 27 kiddos participating in KIDCO’s Winter Break Camp to engage them in the design process for the new play area. Through a series of Fill-in-the-blank, drawing, and modeling activities, kids shared some awesome play ideas! Snakes, crystals, rocks, volcanoes, and plants were popular themes, and kids emphasized that they’re interested in climbing, sliding, swinging, and running at the new play area. Preferred colors for the play features were blue, green, and brown. Take a look at some of their inspiring ideas below.
Parks and Recreation used community input from the first survey and KIDCO outreach to develop 3 play concepts for the community to review and provide feedback on in the Play Area Survey.

Baseball Field #3: Chase Ridenour Field
On Tuesday, Aug. 19, Tucson Mayor and City Council approved the renaming of Field #3 to "Chase Ridenour Field." Chase Ridenour grew up in Tucson and played baseball with Sabino Canyon Little League (SCLL). Following his passing, his family has been instrumental in supporting youth baseball in the community by establishing a financial fund dedicated to SCLL. This fund helps provide capital improvements to the league and ensures that all children. The renaming recognizes the Ridenour family’s contributions, which have made significant improvements to field #3 possible, including the purchase of a new scoreboard.
