The City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM) is updating the Major Streets and Routes Plan (MS&R). This plan shows major streets and routes for Tucson, identifying the general location and right-of-way widths of arterial and collector streets. The plan influences development along those routes and provides a framework for establishing roadway elements. With direction from Mayor and Council, DTM will update this plan to better respond to future transportation and mobility needs across the City of Tucson while providing improved opportunities for potential development along arterial and collector roadways. The previous plan was updated in 2016.
There will be one upcoming in-person event and one virtual meeting for opportunities to review the latest draft map updates, learn more about the Major Streets and Routes Plan, talk to City staff, and provide your input.

The project website outlines the proposed changes to the map. It includes multiple ways to provide feedback, including an interactive feedback map tool, an online survey, and updates on future events.
The updated map is part of an effort to prepare for transportation and mobility needs across the City of Tucson while aligning with the Tucson Complete Streets Policy and recent planning guidance. After the public comment period, the Planning Commission and Mayor & Council will review any proposed updates for consideration and potential adoption.
