TFD to hold 9/11 Ceremony

On September 11, 2013, TFD will hold a short ceremony to remember those lost on September 11, 2001. The commemoration will consist of the following:

1. 0845 hours - lower the flag from full staff to half staff.
2. 0846 hours - Communications will sound a single tone, followed by a short message and moment of silence.
3. After the moment of silence, return the flag to full staff.

TFD personnel will stand at attention near their workplace's flag and park their apparatus in front of their firehouse.

Dear Tucsonans,

Our Future

Because we always focus together on how can we do better as a City, we sometimes fail to pause and celebrate what we have accomplished -- the good news. The harsh economic downturn surely reinforced that tendency.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Site Changes

Beginning on July 1st, the City of Tucson/Pima County Household Hazardous Waste program will rotate locations on the second saturday of the month.

The long standing location at the fire station at 7575 E Speedway will still be open on the first Saturday of each month, 8 am - noon. Also, hazardous waste will continue to be collected at the CABOP location at Los Reales Landfill.
