Overview
The Taxpayer Assistance Division transitioned to a new business license and tax system in 2022. We have rolled out a new online business license and tax portal.
Taxpayers are be able to:
The URL for our online portal is https://tucsonaz.taxandrevenue.opengov.com. This URL will be printed on the annual license renewal bills that are about to be mailed, and we will be adding links to it on the Taxpayer Assistance webpages on this site.
Registering An Account In The Online Portal
Click this link to open a PDF with basic instructions for registering a username and password on the online portal.(PDF, 3MB)
Please note that this registration is only for the purpose of providing online access to existing business license accounts with the City of Tucson. This process does not submit a business license application. For more information on applying for a business license, visit our Apply for a Business License page.
If you experience issues with the online registration process, please email our office, and include your name, your business name, the PIDN (license number) for your business license account, and your security code if available. Please let us know whether or not you were able to continue past the initial registration screen (where you select an email address to use as your username), and if you received any specific error messages.
If you have previously registered a username on the online portal, and have forgotten your password, you may use the "Forgot Password?" link at the bottom of the Customer Login screen.
Linking A PIDN (License Number) To An Account On The Online Portal
Click this link to open a PDF with basic instructions for linking a PIDN to an account on the online portal.(PDF, 1MB)
If the email address used for your account on the online portal was already associated with one or more PIDNs in the City of Tucson OpenGov Tax & Revenue system, they may automatically be linked to your online account, and will show up in the Linked Records of the dashboard to your account. If you encounter an issue when attempting to link a PIDN, or do not have a Security Code, please email our office. Be sure to include your PIDN in your email.
In several places in the online portal, the term "PIDN" is used to indicate your license number. If you had a license account prior to June 2022, your PIDN is the same as your previous seven-digit license account number, with a "T" in front. If you applied for a license in June 2022 or later, you were automatically issued an eight-character PIDN/license number beginning with a "T". If you have received your license renewal bill (the form with the title "License Fees Billing Form"), your PIDN is to the right of the header "License Number" in the upper right corner of the form. The four-digit Security Code needed to link a PIDN/license number to a customer account on the online portal is located on the renewal bill, immediately below the License Number.
Making A Payment Through The Online Portal
Click this link to open a PDF with basic instructions for making a payment on an account on the online portal.(PDF, 3MB)
If one or more PIDNs on your account show a credit balance, that credit needs to be verified by our staff. If the credit has already been verified and you wish to use the credit to pay any taxes or fees due on your account, the credit must be applied by our staff. Please email our office to request this. Be sure to include your PIDN/license number in your email.
In the rare case that you have made a payment and it does not reflect on your account, please do not immediately attempt another payment. Instead, email our office to let us know, so that we may verify if the payment was processed successfully by our payment processor and merely failed to post to your account in OpenGov Tax & Revenue. Be sure to include your PIDN/license number in your email.
If you have a City of Tucson liquor license, are eligible for the discounted annual liquor tax, and wish to pay using the online portal, please email our office to request this. Be sure to include your PIDN/license number in your email.
