Volunteers & Vendors Needed for Hope in Park Homeless Resource Fair
Published on October 15, 2025
Hope in the Park is a one-day, one-stop resource gathering for unsheltered individuals to be held Friday, Nov. 7, at Rudy Garcia Park, 5001 S. Nogales Highway, from 9 AM to 2 PM. The Multi-Disciplinary Outreach Team (MDOT), a component of the City of Tucson’s Housing First Division, is sponsoring and organizing Hope in the Park.
Services to be offered include health screening, legal assistance, behavioral health, shelter/housing, clothing, haircuts, animal care, VA benefits, food and more.
Based on previous Hope in the Park events, more than 300 people are expected at the park, including veterans and families with children.
“Volunteering and being on the board with Hope in the Park has been such a privilege for me to provide much needed resources and support to our community, for all walks of life," said Zion Alderette, a volunteer and a researcher for SIROW, the Southwest Institute for Research on Women at the University of Arizona. "I know firsthand how challenging obtaining proper resources, getting connected to an actual person who genuinely cares about your situation, to getting something so simple that many of us take for granted such as simply getting a haircut does truly impact a person's life in the most meaningful way.”
Volunteers and vendors are needed for the event. Volunteers are needed for various shifts starting at 7 AM and ending at 3 PM. Vendors are being sought to offer services at the event.
Vendors interested in participating can sign up at this link, Hope in the Park 2025 Provider Form, or contact Alexandria Kariolich at akariolich@helptucson.org

Said Alderette: “Having the providers that table at the event can be extremely hard to connect with, when a person is experiencing a crisis of any type. So having all these providers come together in one place and give our community the much-needed support and attention the community is deserving o makes a huge impact not just to those that have the means to obtain them but to all."
