The Alene Dunlap Smith Garden is dedicated to Alene Dunlap Smith (1920-1980), a historic preservationist, neighborhood conservationist, and community leader. This mini park and sculpture garden, located in the heart of the El Presidio National Register Historic District, was designed by sculptor and public artist Barbara Grygutis in 1985 and commemorates Alene Dunlap Smith as the founder of Tucson's first historic district.
