The Stacy Redondo Fields

The softball field complex at Kennedy Park was officially named "Stacy Redondo Fields" by the Mayor and Council at the meeting of Sept. 9, 2026, passing Resolution No. 24178.

Stacy Redondo-Santa Cruz (February 26, 1971 – April 17, 2023), a fourth-generation Tucsonan, began her softball journey at Kennedy Park, home of Tucson Mountain Little League, before starring at Cholla High School and the University of Arizona, where she played on the Wildcats' 1991 and 1993 National Championship teams and earned College World Series All-Tournament honors. She later won additional national titles and coached Salpointe Catholic High School to a State Championship.

Equally devoted to education, Stacy earned two degrees from the University of Arizona and a master's from Northern Arizona University. A fluent bilingual teacher, she taught at Drachman Montessori before spending her later years at Roskruge Bilingual Magnet School. Her legacy was honored with inductions into the University of Arizona, Pima County, Roskruge, and Tucson Unified School District Halls of Fame. Remembered for her vibrant spirit, Stacy was cherished as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
