Project History
Thanks to Tucson Delivers Proposition 407 bond funding, Silverlake Park will soon receive a new walking path connection, new covered basketball court, resurfaced parking lots - and a whole new way to play!

To learn more about what kind of play experiences the community would like to see at Silverlake and Mirasol, Parks and Recreation hosted a community meeting on Feb. 26, 2025, at Quincie Douglas Center, circulated an online survey from Feb. 26-March 19, and connected with K-3 students at Southside Community School on Mar. 6. ~100 students in grades K-3 created their own 3D play designs and voted for their favorite play features through a sticker dot activity.
Through our outreach we learned that kids are really interested in opportunities to spin, climb, swing, slide, cross over obstacles, create things in a sand kitchen, and connect with nature.

Parks and Recreation used the feedback from the community meeting, online survey, and youth outreach to shape two different play options for the community to review (see survey above).
