Tucson Development Center

The Tucson Development Center (TDC) Service Counter is here to make your building and permitting process as smooth as possible. Whether you’re just getting started or need help navigating next steps, our knowledgeable team is ready to assist.

Here’s how we can help:

  • Guidance on applying for permits - bring your electronic device (laptop, smartphone, etc.) and ensure your files are in PDF format for the best experience
  • Templates and directions to help you prepare everything needed for a permit application
  • Tips for navigating the Planning and Development Services Department (PDSD) website and troubleshooting TDC Online (online permitting portal)
  • Answers to general questions about the permitting process, records, and understanding permit status and next steps
  • Assistance with requesting inspections or accessing a copy of your invoice

There are some services we’re unable to provide at the service counter, including:

  • Accepting paper applications or plans - PDSD is 100% paperless, all applications must be submitted electronically
  • Over-the-counter reviews or Certificate of Occupancy processing
  • Questions about review comments, development packages, or special district applications
  • Microfilm records

Please note that questions regarding review comments should be directed to the staff member who provided the comment, using the contact information included with the comment.

If you have questions about any of our services, contact us by email at PDSDinquiries@tucsonaz.gov or call 520-791-5550 for assistance. If your inquiry falls outside the scope of the Tucson Development Center, our staff will guide you to the appropriate resources or departments.

Planning and Development Services is committed to helping you succeed with your development needs and look forward to assisting you.
